18 years ago, I started DV8 Motorsports in Lake Park, Florida with a simple goal — build a shop that treats people the way they should be treated.
Before that, I spent years learning the industry from the ground up. I worked for multiple shop owners, saw what worked, and saw what didn't. I didn't always agree with how customers were treated or how businesses were run, and early on I knew I wanted to build something different — a place where customers are respected and relationships are built to last for years, even generations.
My passion for the custom automotive industry started back in high school. I was drag racing with friends and working on cars from the moment I could drive at 16. What started as interest quickly turned into a career.
I got my start professionally in Naples, Florida, working in sales and managing the retail side of a small family-owned shop. After about a year, the business faced financial issues and I had to move on, which led me to another local shop where I stepped into an installer technician role. I spent the next two years there, gaining hands-on experience and realizing that owning my own shop was the direction I wanted to take.
Soon after, I was offered an opportunity to move to Palm Beach County as a general manager for a truck accessory business. I accepted, relocated, and used that time to deepen my understanding of the industry while building relationships with customers, dealerships, distributors, and aftermarket manufacturers — many of which I still work with today.
Over the next six years, I worked across three different companies, treating every role as an opportunity to learn every aspect of the business. Each experience helped sharpen my vision and reinforced my decision to eventually go out on my own.
In late 2007, I made that move.
In early 2008, DV8 Motorsports was officially established in a 5,000 sq ft location in Lake Park. After three years of steady growth, it became clear we were outgrowing the space. I began searching for a larger, more visible location and ultimately secured our current spot on Federal Highway — a high-traffic, high-visibility location that positioned us for long-term growth.
We shut down temporarily, completed a full remodel, and reopened stronger in our new facility — where we've now been for over 13 years.
Running a business comes with its challenges — ups and downs, pressure, and moments that test you. Through it all, I stayed focused on the passion I have for this industry and the vision of building something that lasts.
The greatest reward has been seeing customers — some of them for over 20 years — continue to trust us, return to us, and enjoy the vehicles we build. Whether it's a personal build, a long-time client, or a dealership partnership, that satisfaction is what keeps me going.
Just as important is the team behind it all.
This company wouldn't exist without the people who show up every day and take pride in their work. We've built more than just a business — we've built a team environment that feels like a family.
